In Sociology, students will explore what makes people—and societies—thrive, struggle, and change. Through the lenses of psychology, sociology, and faith, students will study the deep connection between individual choices and the world we create together.
Using Homeschool Psychology Text as a foundation, students will first explore how the mind works - how thoughts, emotions, and environments shape human behavior. Building on this understanding, students will have three additional books to read. These will invite students to reflect on how intentional kindness and God’s design for blessing others can transform communities. Additional reading will challenge students to examine success, opportunity, and cultural legacy, while providing a raw, compassionate look into the realities of poverty, housing instability, and systemic challenges that affect families across America.
Throughout the semester, students will engage in guided discussions, reflective journaling, and case studies that connect academic learning with empathy and a Christian worldview. By the end of the course, students will gain not only sociological insight but also a deeper understanding of their calling to see and serve others as Christ does.
