In this hands-on art course, students will explore the fundamentals of sketching and drawing while developing their own unique artistic style. Through guided lessons and independent projects, students will learn techniques in shading, proportion, perspective, and composition using pencil, charcoal, ink, and mixed media. Emphasis will be placed on observational drawing, creative expression, and refining technical skills.
Students will sketch from life, photographs, and imagination—experimenting with still life, portraits, landscapes, and abstract designs. Along the way, they’ll study famous artists and movements that shaped the art of drawing, applying those influences to their own work.
By the end of the course, each student will build a personal sketchbook portfolio that showcases growth, creativity, and confidence as an artist.
