Monday PM Elective (M)

This year-long course introduces middle school and high school students to the basics of American Sign Language and Deaf culture. Through engaging lessons, games, and conversation practice, students will learn foundational vocabulary, fingerspelling, grammar, and everyday phrases to begin communicating in ASL. This class also helps build awareness and appreciation for the Deaf community while encouraging patience, empathy, and clear communication. ASL 1 counts as one foreign language credit and requires a full-year commitment. No prior experience needed—just a willingness to learn and a heart to connect!
