Description

For a Home Ec Credit: Knitting and crochet is a creative outlet that introduces students to a new skill. Crochet and knitting helps fine motor skills and better hand eye coordination. This elective will introduce students to basic stitches, pattern creation and project completion. We aim to use this knowledge to complete a variety of knitting and crochet creations over the semester. The meditative and repetitive action of both knitting and crocheting help to focus the mind on the activity, thereby slowing the nervous system and reducing anxiety and stress hormones in the body.
